Unity Parenting & Counseling, Inc.
Unity Parenting & Counseling Inc. is a licensed child welfare agency that implements an Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) contracted Foster Care program.
One major purpose is to offer services to biological parents who have temporarily lost custody of their children, ages 0-21, for reasons of abuse or neglect. These services are geared to facilitate reunification of parent and child when possible and appropriate. A second focus is to oversee children/youth in the foster homes and support the foster parents in providing best practice care. When reunification with the biological parent Is not possible, Unity Case Managers and staff work with the foster parent(s) and the courts to achieve guardianship or adoption with the foster parent(s).
The overall program goal is to ensure the children/youth in the Foster Care program achieve maximum safety and stability in a loving home as is consistent with Unity’s mission.
Unity Parenting and Counseling is invested in making life better, meaningful and rewarding for young people and families from disadvantaged backgrounds. We empower and equip them with the resources and knowledge that can enable them to transform their lives so that they can add value to themselves and positively impact their local communities.

Unreal. This is Victoria Levy. I moved in Dec. 2020 after being homeless for five years. I thought this would be a wonderful place to live. I was so wrong. My life was completely torn apart by hateful tenants, poor management, harassment and threats towards me and recently told I was being forced to leave. I just signed a year lease for 2022 and apparently that means nothing. I pay my rent and follow the rules. I am 60 years old, disabled, mentally ill, widowed and a domestic violence victim. They could care less. This place is Hell on Earth. Move in at your own risk. I actually thought things would get better. I was wrong.

I am totally unhappy at the way this organization is handling my daughter and granddaughters. They have been lying in court and not helping her at all. They are trying very hard to keep her kids from her. I would not send my worse enemy to this place...

I know for a fact that this organization is not interested in families staying together and they are totally unprofessional!

The title of your program doesn't represent what you actually do or your intentions.
