Kemmerer
Kemmerer Village provides community-based services for children and adolescents, ages 0 – 21 years. For a variety of reasons, these young people need an alternative home environment with the added support of professional casework, and case management services. Our various programs are accredited by the Council on Accreditation and licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
The Kemmerer Village Community Services staff performs the licensing and ongoing monitoring of the foster homes in which our children are placed. Our foster parents undergo thorough screening via an application process, background checks, and Home Studies. Our foster parents also receive extensive training prior to having their first child placed with them. We currently provide these services to over 100 foster homes, spread throughout the counties of: Christian, Shelby, Montgomery, Fayette, Macon and Moultrie. Our professional staff and foster parents are dedicated to, and experienced at, providing a safe, nurturing home environment allowing the opportunity for the child to flourish.

Requirements to become a foster parent
You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care for children in Illinois. To become a foster parent, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Attend foster parent orientation
- Pass a background check
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete the Home Study
- Provide at least three references
- Clear a physical exam
- Maintain financial stability
Foster families must be able to provide a safe and comfortable home for a child. You must provide room for the child to have a bed and enough space for personal belongings.
Foster parents do not need to be married or have a partner. However, if married, couples must show a stable marriage of at least one year before they can foster a child in Illinois.
Foster parents need to meet a child's basic care needs, such as providing meals and clothing. Foster families must also support a foster child's education and assist them in developing social skills.

I got more help from clients than staff. The therapist was getting ready to quit when I came so I didn't see much of her. The staff were all more interested in each other than us. you would think you were in Alabama with everyone being related. The nurse had a daughter working there. The higher ups also had a sun or daughter working there. I'm mostly upset about the lack of actual therapy and help they promised. All staff did was put a movie in, take us out or send us to our rooms. We never really did any thing. It's really just sad.
I have to say their Facebook page looks slot better than the actual place. You can thank Schales Nagel for that. Sorry Schales.I speak the truth.🙊🤷

My friends brother went here and had a awful time one kid even went so far to hit his head on a nail sticking out the wall DONT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE this place is meant for psychos
