Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

My husband Josh and I recently worked with Adoptions Miracles through the adoption of our beautiful baby daughter. Renee and her staff were so helpful and supportive every step of the way. Even through the intricacies and complications of the adoption journey, they were always by our side, keeping us updated and working through each part of the process. So thankful for their expertise and wisdom through this exciting yet sometimes overwhelming process!

This was my first time I have ever gave my babies up for adoption. Adoption miracles have been so great to me through out my entire pregnancy. Renee and Alyce both were there for me every step of the way. I am so thankful and grateful I met them both.

My husband and I recently adopted a beautiful baby girl through Adoption Miracles. The entire process of working with Renee and her staff was amazing and flawless. She truly looks out for your best interest and her years of experience are obvious. When we are ready to adopt again we will 100% go with Renee and Adoption Miracles.

After becoming pregnant, I didn't know what to do. I knew I wouldn't be able to give a baby everything they need so I knew adoption would be my only choice. I was so scared at first to contact an agency, but I finally reached out to Adoption Miracles through their 24hr chat . It was 10pm and I got a response right away and I really didn't expect it, but Rene was so awesome, she made me feel so much better about my choice. Through adoption Miracles, I received free counseling, transportation to my appointments anytime I needed it, even financial assistance which took so much stress off my shoulders. I picked a family that was already pre-screened and home study approved, and they are so amazing. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I can honestly say this agency cares, not only about parents looking to adopt, but for birth moms as well. They helped me get into an apartment and get settled for a better future and I could never thank them enough. I know there are so many women in the world that feel the same way I felt, but are scared to reach out for help. I just want to say that I was in that same place just a few months ago and I am so happy that I called adoption Miracles. Not only am I in such a better place, but my daughter is so loved and being taken care of better than I could've ever hoped for.

I just want to say you are a blessing not to only me but my mom and my son because without you I don't know if this whole experience would be as amazing as it is because no only do you make this an amazing unbelievable experience for the adoptive family, but you make it just as amazing for the birth mother's as well, and this time you even hand picked the family's you thought I would like and you couldn't have been anymore point on with the family's you went this time.
