Adoption Advocates, Inc.
Services We Provide
We take care of services at every level of the adoption process, including:
Identifying a child for adoption and arranging an adoption;
Securing the necessary consent for termination of parental rights and for adoption;
Performing a home study on a prospective adoptive parent(s);
Post-placement visit, which consists of monitoring a case after a child has been placed with prospective adoptive parent(s) until final adoption.
Adoption Advocates is a small, family-operated agency. We only work with a limited number of prospective parents at a time. However, most families have a placement within a year of documentation submission. Please remember that your future child has personal and social circumstances that are very different from your own; if you want the quickest success, you’ll need to be willing to be accepting of those differences. We work with children and prospective parents from the United States and abroad. Every child needs a parent, no matter where they come from.
Adoption Advocates Inc. helps unite children in need with loving parents across the United States and beyond. Call or email us today.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

We had a really great experience with Tara and Adoption Advocates. In our situation, we had a 3rd party involved at the beginning (not affiliated with Adoption Advocates) that was pushy and unprofessional. We insisted that we be able to talk to Adoption Advocates before moving forward. Luckily, we were able to talk with Tara and after doing so, we felt much better about moving forward based on her knowledge, guidance and ability to clarify information that was confusing to us in the beginning. Throughout our time working together, Tara was extremely responsive (even on nights and weekends), always answered our questions thoroughly and made sure to give us realistic information and expectations. As an example, the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) approval process can take up to 10 business days during which time you must remain in the state. She made this clear in order to manage expectations since we lived several states away, however ours only took 3 business days. Tara provided us with updates whenever she got information from the birth mother and was really helpful in coordinating communication and interaction. The lawyer’s office that Adoption Advocates works with, Jeanne Tate, is also great. Overall, we had a very positive experience with Tara and Adoption Advocates and remain grateful for everything she did to help our family grow.

Warning... Do not use this agency! They are misleading, cold and unprofessional! I do not wish to give specific details regarding our experience with Tara and her mother. Use extreme caution if you are considering AA!

We worked with Tara at Adoption Advocates for over a year before finally bringing home our beautiful baby girl. As an adoptive family, I believe the things you really need most from an adoption agency are 1) Honesty 2) Expertise in the entire process, and 3) Responsiveness. We worked unsuccessfully with other agencies that did not come close to checking these boxes. But throughout everything we went thru in our journey with Adoption Advocates, which unfortunately included failed adoptions prior to our successful placement, Tara was always up front with us and quick to respond when we had questions or even when we just wanted to vent (which happened often) and she was an excellent guide thru this complicated and sometimes maddening process.
We will be forever grateful to Tara and Adoption Advocates for sticking by our sides until we found our daughter.
