Alaska Statewide Foster Care Information Line
You don’t have to live in a big city to be a foster parent. You don’t have to have a big house, a fancy car or lots of money. What you need is a home. What you need is a heart that can open to a child who needs you. Won’t you become a foster parent today? A child is waiting.
On average, there are approximately 3,000 children each month in foster care in Alaska. Foster homes provide children in care a temporary, safe, stable and nurturing home until they can be reunited with their families. Some children stay in a foster home for days or weeks; some stay for months. In some cases, children are unable to safely return to their family home and are placed permanently with another family.

I cannot recommend Alaska Adoption Services enough. As adoptive parents, we wanted to make sure we chose an ethical agency, and they went above and beyond to care for expecting moms as well as us. Their speedy responses to any and all questions was so comforting, and they took care of the legalities so all we had to do was focus on our newborn son. We are forever grateful for them for helping us grow our family!
