Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

One of the best decisions we've made was choosing Monarch to grow our family. The support and love from the agency begins with Dr. Jackson and given through the caseworkers. Highly recommend for foster/adoptive minded families.

This also happened to me. They are not transparent with your case or file and totally worst adoption placement experience. Still haven't heard from them as to the legal reasons why CPS took the child and is blocking all communication with the only person that cares for the well-being of the child, nor have I been given any legal forms stating reasons why CPS terminated adoptive placement. This agency does not provide after placement adoption support. A better description for this agency would be a place that gives you resources that you can call yourself. They tell you where to go to get post adoption help and you pretty much have to spend lots and lots of time on phone calls making sure the resource they provided take the State Medicaid insurance. They ignore emails requesting assistance on crisis with adoptive child until you have completely exhausted yourself and failed.
Truly regretting this experience. If you want to have an adoption experience that will be one that ends with your forever family in success, please look at other reputable agencies
Best wishes to you in your journey.

This place is not a real Family services and the staff will set you up to fail with your CPS case. be prepared and do not go to any interview at this location ALONE find a Lawyer and make sure they go with you. try to record everything they say and do at this place. the reason why the psychologist or case worker wants to meet you at Starbucks is because it's all a set up. the case worker I was assigned to in my CPS case, was a sick woman who could not pass a basic Psychological evaluation to be employed, let alone be the one who evaluates you and reports back to CPS and the court. MONARCH FAMILY SERVICES will send a report to the court telling a million lies about you by simply have you fill out some quiz like papers and no one will ever really evaluate you properly. MFS is a set up to take your children away. do not go alone, do not trust this place and do not go along with their game, you will lose every time.
