4Kids4Families is a new approach to foster care placement in the Texas Piney Woods.
As a community organization, we partner with community experts to support the well-being of everyone involved, including children, their families, and the foster families who bridge the gap.
Every child longs to be with their family
Separation carries a cost.
It’s traumatic for both parent and child – and if not handled well, it can perpetuate the very cycle it was meant to heal.
CHILDREN:
Every child is seen as a unique person with a valuable future who deserves to know what true safety and love looks like.
PARENT:
Every parent separated from their child will be supported with services, therapy, or programs that will help guide them toward being the safe, nurturing parent and community member they want to be.
FOSTER PARENT:
Foster parents and families will be supported by a community of like-minded individuals encouraging them and meeting their needs.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

Basically this agency lied to me and wasted my time and money to become a licensed foster parent for a special program Treatment care that only they offered at their agency. They have 2 African American women Renee Hawkins and Celeste who taught some of the classes that were rude and seemed to want you to not get licensed. All this agency did was unsympatheticly apology for not "catching" the so called error of wanting to make sure you were stable to "take care of your family" when they require you to quit your job, which I was and they had no explanation for it at all. Very unprofessional and a waste for a so called"Christian" agency. Oh and if you apply and have 2 or 3 kids (Treatment care)don't waste your time because they will just deny you after they have wasted your time, money and energy. But they will tell no that's not the "reason" we don't place kids. Their priorities are mixed up and everything is Personal with them, so placing kids in a Loving Qualifyed Home is not on there top priority list. If you want to be badgered, talked cruel to in class where you thought you were going to learn and open your home as loving foster parents and left amiss then this is the place for you. I had a meeting with 2 Directors who were of no assistance and lied right to my face.
