We are a licensed adoption agency in South Carolina, certified to receive children for placement in family homes with a view toward domestic adoption; to provide adoptive services and/or serve as a referral agency; consulting; and, to provide foster home and adoptive assessments, and training. It is our privilege to serve in this amazing, adventurous, miracle world of adoption! Hope Embraced helps with matching adoptive families with women facing pregnancy with circumstances that have led them to choose adoption. The agency also helps in situations of “Identified” or “Designated” adoptions. This is where a family comes to us with a birth mom they have already matched with on their own. Hope Embraced provides adoption support services of counseling, guidance, and the paperwork necessary for all parties. Hope Embraced also provides information for legal representation and resources for the home study and profile if needed. Hope Embraced does home studies for SC families doing domestic adoption, embryo adoptions, and/or surrogacy adoptions.

Requirements to become a foster parent

Foster parents receive financial support in the form of a monthly board rate. Foster children also receive a clothing allowance, and their medical needs are covered through Medicaid.

In addition to the support you receive from your local DHS or foster care agency, there are other programs and resources available to parents.

The South Carolina Foster Parent Association offers free training to foster parents and kinship caregivers. You can find information on the latest laws and events as well. Plus, you gain access to valuable resources such as informational articles, contact information for professionals, etc.

The SC Foster Parent Association also allows foster families to connect with one another and share advice. You can find local association meetings in your area on their website.

The program Heartfelt Calling's mission is recruiting and supporting foster and adoptive families. Parents can learn more about the system, start the application process, register for orientation, find webinars, and more.

Foster parents that care for children in DSS custody receive reimbursement for related costs. These monthly foster care payments are meant to meet a child's basic care needs.

The most recent board rates are on the South Carolina Department of Social Services website. Payments may vary depending on a child's age and special needs.

Here are the basics;

Adoption is not for the faint of heart. There are many highs and lows. It can be a bit of a rollercoaster. Many people are involved in the process, and because of this, adoption is messy. Ours was no exception. I've read a few reviews about this agency that aren't fair. I'd go as far as to say they aren't even true. I am not giving Hope Embraced 5 stars because our journey was super easy. It was actually very difficult. I gave them 5 stars because they were our greatest source of support. Jeanna and Mike became great friends to my husband and me. When we hit our first major roadblock, they worked around the clock to help us overcome it. They were on a family vacation at the time. Even once we were matched to our son who was in the care of different agency in Texas, Hope Embraced stayed by our side. Jeanna is very responsive to emails and texts. I have often asked for her advice since bringing our son home. She and Mike made our homestudy process enjoyable and stress-free. I have and will continue to recommend Hope Embraced to others interested in adoption.

We had the most wonderful experience working with Jeanna of Hope Embraced. Was it an easy journey...? No. Did Jeanna help us every step of the way....? YES! We are so grateful to have found Hope Embraced. Adoption is certainly not an easy and simple process but Jeanna has a special way of making the process feel not so overwhelming. Adoption is very near and dear to our hearts and Jeanna's heart as well. She is so caring, sweet and wise and we simply cannot imagine going through our journey with anyone else. With Jeanna's help, knowledge and encouragement... we have been blessed by adoption and have a beautiful daughter. Jeanna/Hope Embraced will forever have a very special place in our heart.

Jeanna is The most genuine adoption professional you could ever meet. We are so very thankful that God led us to her agency. She works non-stop to ensure that the families/clients have everything they need for a smooth adoption. We wouldn’t have our sweet girl if it wasn’t for her tireless dedication to ethical adoption practices. We had to clear 3 separate states through ICPC to bring our girl home. She had us cleared in only 3 days! I’ll never forget that call telling us we could bring our baby home! Our lives have been forever blessed by her work.

Hope Embraced Adoption Agency went above and beyond our expectations. We adopted not only 1 child but 2 in two years! We wanted to have a small agency who knew us by name, not a huge agency who usually delegates a case worker to you and you never even know who owns the company. We loved what we found with Hope Embraced, after two years of research before signing with any agency. We chose this small agency after our consult with Jeanna Smith, who had personal experiences with adoption on all sides being birth mother, natural mother, and an adoptive mother- and is the owner herself of Hope Embraced. Kind, compassionate and didn’t mind “holding my hand” a bit during the wait. Her affiliation and referall services outmatched any research for any other small agency. Giving us the opportunity to be shown to other agencies and adoption lawyers. The sign on fees are extremely fair, with all the work she puts in behind the scenes most people have not a clue how many hours go into just showing a profile. She gave us many cases to view, some were babies already born! We were blessed to have Hope Embraced Adoption Agency working for us sometimes(most times) after normal work hours.
Having faith is a huge part of adoption for our family and with faith and HOPE and Hope Embraced,your miracles can come true. NEVER GIVE UP

Jeanna helped us find our precious son & has been great support as we are trying to adopt again! She is great with birthmoms as she personally understands the emotions they face & also understands the emotions of being adoptive parents. That understanding support you don't find many places and it's obvious she has her heart in what she does! And the Christian emphasis is such a blessing!! For us, it's important to work with someone we can trust and we believe Hope Embraced is trustworthy!
