Faithful to Christ’s mission of love, Catholic Charities Counseling and Adoption Services is a non-profit organization serving communities throughout the Catholic Diocese of Erie. Our mission is to provide professional counseling, adoption services and other programs that educate, affirm, and support individuals of all faiths to achieve their fullest human potential.
Catholic Social Services was founded on December 24, 1953, as a family casework agency, its mission was to "offer social services of a professional nature to the residents of the Diocese of Erie."
The needs of a child determine the types of services that will be provided, although the needs and interests of the birth parents and adoptive parents are also recognized.

Requirements to become a foster parent
You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care in Pennsylvania. Foster parents for children in need must:
- Be a minimum of 21 years old
- Pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting
- Have time and energy to devote to fostering
- Live in a safe and healthy environment
- Prove good health through a medical examination/physical
- Maintain financial stability
- Clear all home safety requirements
- Complete required pre-service training hours
- Finish the Home Inspection
After fulfilling all requirements during the approval process, licensed foster parents can welcome a foster child into their home. To maintain a valid license, foster parents must also participate in ongoing training each year.
All adults who are living in homes with foster children in Pennsylvania must pass a required criminal background check and fingerprinting. This includes adult children who are family members living at home.
There are other, more detailed requirements for foster homes, such as having a flushing toilet and an operable phone. Prospective foster parents will learn more details during foster parent orientation.
Once you've decided to foster, you can contact a public or private foster agency or the Pennsylvania State Resource Family Association. Foster agencies screen and train prospective foster families and ensure applicants are good candidates for foster care.

"West Tenth Auto" should be re-named "West Tenth Con Artists". They put two small dents in my rear passenger's side; managed to break a bracket off from my new headlight before they installed it - and then gave me attitude when I came to pick up my car. Talking down to you is their idea of customer service until you're ready to pay the bill. I should not have left that shop with new damage to my vehicle - what is wrong with people today?! It was their scheme in order to have me return for future service on my vehicle (i.e. pull dents). I never returned to that joke of a mechanic, nor will I ever. East Avenue Auto Center, located at 963 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16503, is where I service my vehicle for all of its needs (i.e. inspection, wheel bearings, brakes/rotors, etc.). I highly recommend giving East Avenue Auto a call and you'll be very satisfied with their pricing, friendliness, and competence! Unlike West Tenth Auto, they will be straight-forward and honest with you about your vehicle's condition and what it needs. West Tenth Auto charges you for very poor customer service (and, sometimes, for the labor it took them to damage your vehicle). They cannot be trusted, have multiple negative reviews on their Google Maps page, and lack basic mechanical knowledge. Just say, "NO! ," to West Tenth Auto. Bunch of crooks! 🤬 👎 🤥 🤮 🤦♂️

Dropped truck off and told him I thought ball joints were bad. He said he’d take a look and I told him I was going home to order a rental car. Went back two hours later to get my insurance card out of the truck. Truck was sitting on the side of the shop and he was inside doing nothing from what I could tell. Told me he couldn’t fix it because he didn’t have the right tool, but didn’t bother calling me even though he knew I was ordering a rental. Lost $130 on the rental. Even worse, I took the truck elsewhere and it was two bad bushings. Wasn’t even the ball joints. He obviously didn’t even look at it, but didn’t have the courage to tell me he didn’t want to work on it. He owes me $130 as far as I’m concerned.

I got my brakes & rooters fixed about a month ago, my brakes is still not fixed they just put used ones on and after them “fixing” my brakes 5 lights on the dashboard popped up, my car makes a weird squeaking noise by my tires & doesn't drive the same at all. And when I took it back to see if he could take a look at it, he basically said there wasn’t nothing he could do. Didn’t look at it, didn’t fix it, just nothing.
