Adoption Assistance Agency exists to help children join families who will love, nurture, protect, and embrace them for a lifetime. We believe it is our heavenly Father who creates families and we have seen Him faithfully create so many loving adoptive families. Our non-profit identity enables us to raise charitable funds to accomplish many significant and worthwhile goals.
The first is to defray the costs of birthmothers who plan adoption and then change their mind. This enables the adoptive family to have their birthmother's expense fee apply to another adoption, rather than losing that fee. In addition to helping children find their loving families, we strive to help families of limited means through charitable funds who can only have children through the expensive option of adoption. We offer nurturing, education, counseling, and support for families struggling to overcome challenges.
We provide community education for those working with women so that women who become pregnant may have access to full information and make loving, life-giving choices for their children. Women and men who make the courageous and loving choice of placing their child for adoption through Adoption Assistance can receive counseling for issues related to the adoption until the child is 18 as long as the agency is in business. Requirements to become a foster parent
As a foster parent, you should become familiar with the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department. The CYFD website provides information meetings, resource family guides, printables and PDFs, and more.
New foster parents learn much of what they need to know in the state-required training classes. You can find calendars with meeting dates through the CYFD as well. Foster care training occurs before or during an application process.
The purpose of the training is to educate parents on the trauma that foster kids endure and how to provide care with this in mind. You'll also learn about key topics such as cultural sensitivity, appropriate methods of discipline, the legal system and procedures, etc.
This educational service is one of the best forms of support you'll receive. You can also meet other foster parents in training and form connections.
Creating a support group is vital if you want someone on your side when you have questions or concerns. New foster parents will find that connecting with other foster families gives them an opportunity to learn and grow to become better caregivers.
Adoption and foster care agencies provide full support. A local agency can recruit, train, educate, and supervise foster families. Other than the State of New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department, there is the Adoption Assistance Agency, Christian Child Placement Services, and Joyful World Ministries All Age Adoptions Plus.

We adopted both our sons from Adoption Assistance Agency. The first time we worked with Coleen and she was great 👍 the second time we was tougher than the first. We worked with Coleen again but also Cassie, Amber, and Sharon. When things were really hard Sharon held it all together. Sharon is a Superhero.

Great loving people to work with! They make you feel like a person and not just a number! They love the birth parents and adoptive parents just as much as the babies!❤ God has blessed our family and many others using AAA.

They are Amazing people that really care about families and where they are at. They are loving to women looking to place their child for adoption and do not judge.

I have had the pleasure of working with AAA for over 2 years now. The ladies are family to us now through our adoption journey. Amber at the front has patiently answered countless email and phone questions from day one of our interest in adoption. The agency has supported us though both an amazing successful infant adoption and even a failed adoption. Literally, these women are angels! Colleen and Sharon hugged me and loved me and let me cry on their couch for hours after our failed adoption when I needed the emotional support the most, AND even put me in touch with several amazing contacts to help me recover from the heartache. They gave us all the support we needed when we were falling apart. They also supported us down an unexpected path to adopt an older child across state lines and spent the time to explain step by step how they could assist us with this older child. Cassie is the most incredible person for your home study that you could ever imagine! When you have someone going through your very personal life, you want someone as unjudgemental and understanding as Cassie. She makes the uncomfortable comfortable. Through all of the endless paperwork, background checks, training classes, being matched with birth parents, hospital visits, home visits, follow up visits, court... adoption can be tiring and challenging. Our agency made our crazy adoption journey an absolute pleasure. We have several friends that have adopted thru both different agencies and state adoptions- we always concluded our agency lent way more support and made the adoption process much easier than what we heard. We couldn't imagine any other agency for our adoptions than Adoption Assistance Agency. These Angels helped us bring home our perfect son- Thank you AAA!
