A case worker visits resources families every other month or as needed, and children in foster care are also assigned a social worker. These resources are invaluable points of contact for foster parents.

This is not my own experience but rather that of a friend. It is no less valid for that. She received a routine visit from them following an assault on her person by the father of the children. They discovered that she had a medical condition, one which was being treated, one which was not affecting the children's quality of life, and one which frankly wasn't any of their business. Despite all evidence to support a high quality of life for the children. They were kidnapped and placed in foster care. The problem is, they know that they can get away with taking anyone's child, at any time, for any reason, and they act accordingly. They act bereft of judgment, compassion, empathy professionalism or conscience. They have essentially been given absolute power, and it has corrupted them absolutely.

They moved me over 40 placements and over 16 school. Never received trauma therapy either. They need to tear this agency down and reform the system.

This office moved me 41 times as a child. They do not care about children’s safety or well being. Every time i was abused they screened out my report basically saying i am lying. Now as an adult in college I’m still left without housing even though i am signed in.

I am sure this team of professionals believe they are helping families and maybe they do in some cases. However, with that said, case workers need a full education in versistilty and compassion. Every situation is not the same and not all parents are the same. Each case involves individuals with different circumstances. At DCF everyone is treated the same and all are guilty before proven innocent. Not to mention harassment and a substantial amount of bullying . Please note, I have only worked with one person but if this is the norm I truly fear for other families.
