St. Elizabeth Foundation
Since its founding, St. Elizabeth has placed more than 600 babies. Each adoption represents the love of a birth mother and the loves of an adopting family. Are you pregnant and considering adoption? We understand how hard and scary it can be, but you have options. That’s why we’re here to help you.The process of making an adoption plan is very much for a birthmom like the process of infertility treatments for an adoptive couple. They have a lot in common. They have ridden the same rollercoaster of emotion. They know grief. They know disappointment. And the miracle of it is when a couple who has known the grief of infertility comes in contact with and is blessed with a child of a woman who’s known the grief of poverty or lack of ability at the time to parent a child. So, it’s kind of a miraculous meeting of two people from different worlds who need each other.

Requirements to become a foster parent
You're never alone when you foster as you work as part of a professional team. Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services partners with many organizations to help support foster children and the families that care for them.
The collaborative Foster Caregiver Mentor Program encourages peer relationships between foster families. It's an effective way for new resource parents to meet with more experienced caregivers and get advice.
Your local DCFS also has plenty of resources online, including parent handbooks, contact information, and emergency service information. You can learn more about child welfare agencies and how to become a foster parent.
A child-placing agency is always there for you, providing support in times of crisis or even when you have questions. Don't forget about the case worker, who you can contact if you feel lost.
Working with the birth parents is another part of a foster parent's job. However, you don't have to simply contact them to set up visitations and calls. Co-parenting with them is often best for the child, and it can make your job easier.

..... Adoption means so much to me because of St. ELIZABETH FONDATION! I'm a birthmom with no regrets because of the support and encouragement I've received working them. I found my son his forever family because of them! My son is 12 years old, soon to be 13 and they still help out with visits and communication between myself and his parents. As a birthmom I struggled at first with the adoption idea but working with St. ELIZABETH and all of the amazing staff I'm thankful and happy to say it was the best choice I've ever made in my life - I help create a family because of my choice to go with adoption! From the first call I made to them until now, they are still doing their part to support me and this adoption journey. I love them and they are all my forever family.
