Requirements to become a foster parent
You'll still have support and guidance when you receive a foster placement. Kentucky has continued training and can connect new foster parents with experienced families through the Foster Parent Mentor Program.
Having access to an experienced foster family is invaluable. You'll be able to connect with other adults who have advice and can provide coaching to make your parenting journey easier.
Your local child-placing agency is one of your best sources of information and foster parenting services.
Nonprofit child welfare organizations approved by the state recruit resource parents, provide resources, and offer training and general support. When you attend the informational orientation and parent training, you'll receive books and resources that tell you more about the many available foster parent support groups.

This place does so much for so many! People don't know the programs they have that help so many kids, I believe people just take this place for granted if they think about it at all! We need more people thinking about and talking about and learning about all the good the Home and the staff do for the community and areas around it. The more people know the more help the Home can potentially get to continue to help these beautiful sweet kids!! The kids deserve the very best and so do the staff at the Home!! Spread the word, learn all you can, volunteer whatever you can, (goods, service or time). The more you do the more you will want to do:)

We love the HOTI Pool! It is a 92 degree salt water pool making it possibly the warmest pool in town. The pool, lockers and changing rooms and all very clean. The pool deck is beautiful and there is a splash pad for little swimmers to enjoy. There are plenty of rails making it a great place to teach your kids to swim. We have also taken baby splash and toddler swimming classes here and can't recommend them more! Their pool is available for parties and includes the large gym as well.
