Adoption Support Center, Inc.
Helping an expectant mom with an unintended pregnancy is a delicate and vulnerable process. Emotions are high, and no one wants to say anything that would make her feel ashamed or judged. What’s most important is to broach the subject of options in a way where she feels safe and fully supported.
ASC is a licensed child placement agency in the state of Indiana.
We offer lifelong support for expectant moms, birth moms, and adoptive parents — before, during, and after placement. We help all parties set boundaries, build their relationship, and work through the grief that accompanies placement. We look forward to talking with you.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Foster parents in Indiana have access to a variety of services and support. These services include:
Support Payments
As a foster parent, you will receive a daily payment from DCS to help cover the costs of caring for a foster child. The amount varies depending on the age and needs of the child, but payments start at $18.88/day.
Foster parents are also eligible for an initial clothing expense payment of up to $200.00 and an Annual Personal Allowance of up to $300.00 per child per year. This payment becomes available when the child has been in placement for at least eight days.
Additionally, DCS provides a Special Occasion Allowance of up to $50.00 on
child’s birthday and during the December holidays.
Medical and Dental Coverage
In Indiana, children in foster care are entitled to receive Medicaid coverage for their medical and dental needs.
However, it is the responsibility of the foster parents to schedule and attend all medical and dental appointments for the child. This means that foster parents must make sure that the child receives proper medical care and attends all necessary appointments to maintain their health and well-being.
Training and Support Groups
Foster parents have access to ongoing training and support groups to help them navigate the challenges of fostering. Support groups provide a space for foster parents to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of fostering.
Indiana Foster Care Statistics and Outcomes
Understanding the statistics and outcomes of foster care in Indiana can help you better understand the need for foster parents in the state.
As of 2021, there were over 13,000 children in foster care in Indiana. However, there are only 6,200 licensed foster parents. Most children in Indiana foster care are between ages 8 and 16. On average, they stayed an average of 14.3 months in foster care.
Sadly, children who exit foster care have a higher likelihood of experiencing homelessness, unemployment, and incarceration than their peers who did not experience foster care.
As a foster parent, you can help break this cycle. You could inspire troubled child to excel and reach their true potential.

My wife and I started our adoption journey early in 2020 and had attended a couple of informational meetings at different agencies to choose the one that was right for us. Once we found ASC, we knew we had found the place. What really attracted us was how much they advocated for, celebrated, and honored the birth mothers. We came into the process with serious apprehensions concerning open adoptions and through the agency's education and training, those fears proved unfounded for us. Upon hearing that we were very open to transracial adoption, the agency provided extra resources and recommendations to help prepare us for raising a child racially different than us.
Fast forward to today and we have a beautiful six-month-old baby boy. We have a wonderful relationship with his birth family (mom, dad, grandmothers, etc.) and really could not be more pleased with how everything turned out. When we've had questions, pre-placement or post-placement, the agency has responded quickly, even setting up virtual meetings with us to help us navigate this unfamiliar territory. Not only have they been a great resource for us post-placement, but they continue to provide support for the birth mom as well and that means so much to us.
We unreservedly recommend ASC to anyone who is interested in adoption and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future!

My husband and I started the process of adoption in October 2020 and are now officially LIVE:)! Everyone at ASC has made this such a smooth process! They have done a great job educating us on open adoptions, transracial adoptions and much more. Due to their support, we feel so well prepared and empowered to enter this journey. We cannot wait to see what child or children we are meant to parent and know ASC will not only continue to guide us, but the birth moms/couples along this process which is so important to us! Thank you ASC for helping to make our dream come true!

Communication is not good at all. Even the family I was going to originally picked stated the same thing. One of the main reasons I didn’t follow through because me and the other mom was in the hospital like so I guess we just make the plans/rules and let the agency know. It was both of our first time ever going though an agency and me & the adoptive mom were both clueless. Was not a good look to me & made me 2nd guess everything

23 years ago I gave my daughter up for adoption, only because I already had 3 boys and I could not afford 4 children. I was already working 2 jobs, at times 3. It hurt to know the last child was a girl. I got to pick her parents through profiles and I KNOW I picked the best one for her. The center helped me so much especially with communicating with the people that I picked. Chris and Jack are wonderful people. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is going through adoption.

We absolutely love ASC! We are so thankful for their open and honest communication with us as adoptive parents and their continual care and support for birth moms. Our coordinator, Alli, has been so great at helping us navigate our relationship with our son’s birth mom and we have grown to love her so much and know that this relationship will be good for our son as he grows up. We always felt comfortable working with ASC and could not be happier with our adoption experience ❤️
