Just as its name implies, FamilyCore understands that strong families, equipped with the tools and ties to succeed, are at the heart of any vibrant, tight-knit community. FamilyCore (previously known as Counseling & Family Services) employs over 90 individuals that work with schools, the court system and other social service agencies to connect counseling, intervention, preventative education and other support services with those who have a need.
FamilyCore takes a holistic approach in its continuum of care, often providing boosts of support to multiple generations. The end goal is to maintain the integrity of family, however it may be defined.

Requirements to become a foster parent
You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care for children in Illinois. To become a foster parent, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Attend foster parent orientation
- Pass a background check
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete the Home Study
- Provide at least three references
- Clear a physical exam
- Maintain financial stability
Foster families must be able to provide a safe and comfortable home for a child. You must provide room for the child to have a bed and enough space for personal belongings.
Foster parents do not need to be married or have a partner. However, if married, couples must show a stable marriage of at least one year before they can foster a child in Illinois.
Foster parents need to meet a child's basic care needs, such as providing meals and clothing. Foster families must also support a foster child's education and assist them in developing social skills.

To the people who gave 5 stars on this, are you crazy? How much did Family Core pay you to say that? Family Core needs to be shut down. They are liars and deceivers. How can the case workers get away with filing false court documents is beyond me. They need to be held in contempt of court.

Terrible 2.5 years with this agency! They destroy children lives and families! They lie about everything. Caseworker and supervisors lie on acr reviews. All about money! The longer they have your children the more money they make. They control all of it. My daughter had 4 caseworkers and 4 different supervisors. This agency will be held accountable for their unprofessional practices. Please beware and stand for your rights. They will not help you. They will lie and tell you what you want to hear and do the opposite.

Horrible place. Very unfriendly and unknowledgeable people working here. This place has staff who is good at lying and unconcerned about clients or kids. No one that works here has any kind of intelligence. These people only care about a paycheck.
