Founded by Joshua Zhong and Lily Nie in 1992, CCAI is a non-profit 501c3 charity recognized by the U.S. federal government, accredited by the Hague Accreditation, and licensed by the states of Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Wyoming. CCAI exists to find loving and permanent homes for abandoned/orphaned children, to offer humanitarian assistance to orphans left behind, and to provide cultural, educational, and emotional support to adopted individuals and their families.

We believe that every child deserves a loving family. For 30 years, CCAI has been working with the China, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Taiwan, and Colombia governments and, as of October 2022, has helped realize more than 13,200 family dreams, with forever families in all fifty U.S. states and fifteen countries, making CCAI one of the largest adoption agencies in the world.

We believe that adoption would be meaningless if we do not reach out to the orphans who remain behind. Through such charity programs as food assistance, child care training, foster care development, orphan sponsorship, medical mission, and education support, CCAI’s charity efforts have impacted the lives of more than 100,000 orphans over the past 30 years.

We believe that completing an adoption is just the beginning of our responsibility to adoptees and their families. Since we opened the Joyous Chinese Cultural School (JCCS) in 1996, our passion for continued post-adoption support has grown more prosperous and stronger, eventually evolving into The Park Adoption Community Center in 2019, which, in addition to JCCS, houses life-changing programs such as Adopteen, AdopTween, Xpress Yourself, Heritage Tours, and Adoptees Giving Back Orphanage Service Trips to name a few, benefitting thousands of adopted children and their families across the country.

CCAI is the leading international adoption agency in the world.

Requirements to become a foster parent

You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care for children in Colorado. Foster parents for children and families must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Maintain sufficient income to support a family
  • Have physical and mental capability to care for children and youth
  • Pass a child abuse background and criminal background check
  • Work with a treatment team and undergo future training
  • Complete a Home Study

Prospective foster families can contact a Colorado child placement agency or your local Department of Human Services. Social workers in these child welfare agencies will provide information about Colorado's child welfare system, foster care, and the adoption process.

Social workers recommended that other adults and children in your home agree to provide long-term home care, too. If everyone is ready to welcome a new child, your local agency will help your home become an approved foster home.

If I had a choice I will take a air plane here and adopt a kid Here and it will be a boy and I will want to get a birth certificate and his adoption papers and I will have them email me a picture of the baby

Excellent Agency! They let us know up front how long the adoption process would take and walked us through each step personally. Usually their time estimates were longer than actual so every bit of news in the process took less time than they quoted. The staff is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the adoption process and what all is involved.

Another happy client, they really are amazing. Helping every step of the way, and forever after as well, which is really nice.
