Here at Ariel, we are dedicated to helping children and adults live and thrive in their communities. We are a collection of committed, positive, creative individuals who believe in the inherent worth of every child and adult. We are committed to high standards of care, clearly demonstrated knowledge and good communication with all team members. We want each child, adult, parent, host home, case worker, and contracting authority to feel valued and genuinely supported by our services.

Foster parents are the most important ingredient in helping a child heal from the negative effects of abuse and neglect. Children coming into care need the warmth and stability a foster family can provide.

Requirements to become a foster parent

You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care for children in Colorado. Foster parents for children and families must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Maintain sufficient income to support a family
  • Have physical and mental capability to care for children and youth
  • Pass a child abuse background and criminal background check
  • Work with a treatment team and undergo future training
  • Complete a Home Study

Prospective foster families can contact a Colorado child placement agency or your local Department of Human Services. Social workers in these child welfare agencies will provide information about Colorado's child welfare system, foster care, and the adoption process.

Social workers recommended that other adults and children in your home agree to provide long-term home care, too. If everyone is ready to welcome a new child, your local agency will help your home become an approved foster home.

They push to put kids into different outside programs, saying they will pick them up from school and help them to thrive to be their best...yet the person picking them up is ALWAYS late or sick, putting foster parents in a bind at the last minute. Being timely and dependable shiuld be. Priority when it clmes to your job.

As a kid doing visitations with my mom, I hated this place.
Doing visitations with siblings was always sad and nothing got anywhere. Why does this place even exist still??

Not very accommodating or helpful with information to parents.some times just outright rude. Would not recommend for any family. Also very minimal visits and no family aloud. It's suppose to be in the best intrest of the child and yet they are not set up in a way that is beneficial to the parents or children and hard to contact or find any info when questions are asked some are never resolved. Please if you value your time with your child chose else where the staff does not inform parents very well about any thing that's going on or options they may have. I recommend finding another place.
