Families Uniting Families
Families Uniting Families works to cultivate nurturing and knowledgeable families to protect and meaningfully enhance the welfare and stability of vulnerable children and their families
Families Uniting Families “Foster Family Agency” program (FFA) is licensed by the State of California (LIC# 197804605) to recruit, certify, and provide supportive services for children who are under the protection of the child welfare system for situations involving child abuse and/or neglect.
The majority of these children have been exposed to violence and trauma. The needs these children present with are far more complex and dangerous than one finds in the general population. Because of this, we advocate and provide a high degree of quality care. We monitor the care, developmental, psychological, social, and educational progress of each minor and we create treatment plans that are utilized in collaboration with foster parents, schools, and other providers

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many do not realize the need for new resource families in California. The number of foster kids outnumber the foster families who can provide short or long-term care. Foster advocates work hard to find places for these children, but it is not easy.
The latest 2021 report from the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) report in California says there are:
- 47,871 kids in California's foster care system
- 22,892 who entered foster care
- 15,386 foster kids awaiting adoption
- California foster kids across all ages, with a median of 8 years
- 33% whose foster child case plans include adoption
A child's median time in the California foster care system is over a year at 16.8 months. 13% spend 3-4 years in foster care.
California needs foster parents to take in multiple children if they have the time and energy to care for them. Sibling groups often need care, and it is essential to support these family bonds. In California, it is challenging to find homes for teenagers, though they need stable environments and reliable adults to support them.

Project Fatherhood changes lifes, it did with mine. It constantly helps me to improve myself and I can meet great people to interact with in the groups and gain knowledge as we support each other emotionally and share ideas between parents that want to better their lifes and give the best of ourselves to our families.

Well the only other review on here is from my husband but what can you say? We are fostering to adopt our baby boy from this agency and the difference between the level of care and attentiveness between our FUF social worker and LA county is night and day. Would you believe I actually have my social workers cell and I can call or text her any time any day? Weekends included? I obviously try not to but I feel so good know that I can of an emergency were to come up. If you are thinking about fostering or adoption I would definitely partner with this agency.
