Children are placed in foster care because their homes are unsafe for them—and right now, there are nearly 12,014 of these boys and girls in Arizona. With numbers so large, it’s easy to forget that each one of them is uniquely made in God’s image, with their dreams. Tragically, many will never achieve their best hopes. A full 20% will be homeless when they age out of foster care at 18. Even more, will experience PTSD from the sheer trauma of their childhoods.

These are wounds that leave deep, lasting scars. But Christian families who open their hearts and homes to these children are not only allowing them to heal from abuse or neglect. They’re also living their faith and sharing God’s redeeming love in word and deed with young people who desperately need to hear the Good News.

I’m going to give the Christian Family Care of Arizona as a whole (I’d always gone to Tucson location growing up) an average rating. Pardon my google name by the way, it was just something whacko I came up with:) Anyways, back to the topic, it was between the ages of 8 to 12 when I went through the Tucson agency and everybody was always friendly, so no marks off there. The counselor I had at the time as an adopted child with developmental social issues was a bit of a disappointment I felt, as a kid, because there wasn’t much hands on puzzle solving, brain development activities and the like as what was promised. There was mainly from what I remember bible verses and just casual checkups of how I was faring in my stages of developing into a teen or whatnot. I’m not hating on the work they do, just that it’s put under the guise of “we can do what other organizations similar to us do and maybe even better”. Except, the problem is the “counseling” shoves aside professionalism and real care and just seeks to brainwash you with bible-related things usually out of context. Having sibling problems and arguments? We won’t provide a solution just show you a verse where it says to love your neighbor as yourself? I’m not against scriptural teachings and that sort of thing but I believe there just could’ve been more effective methods for putting that paid 2 hours or so to better use, such as delivering on their promises. Hope I never have to come back here again besides if I need records or something....

A Chrisrian faith based, family centered foster/adopt agency. If you are thinking about fostering or adopting contact these guys. They walked us through the process in a safe, informative and non-threatening way. They are living the Christ centered ministry of reaching children in this hostile world.

Christian family care is been like a second family to us! They gave us everything that we needed to know and all the right tools and mapped everything out perfectly for us in order to start the process of adoption. We adopted our beautiful daughter through them and are very thankful for everything they’ve done for us!
