There are more than 13,000 foster children in the state of Arizona in need of a foster home. At Catholic Charities Community Services, we believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment. We strive to create the right fit for families and children with foster placement. But it doesn’t end there. We support our foster families throughout and after licensure and provide all the education and support you need to take on this important role.

Requirements to become a foster parent

Every state has a set of requirements for foster parents. To be a foster parent in Arizona, you must meet the state's minimum requirements to provide foster care. If caring for children in Arizona's foster system is your goal, you must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Complete a Home Study
  • Pass a home safety inspection
  • Qualify for a fingerprint clearance card (all adults living in or frequently visiting the child at home)
  • Be capable of caring for a child
  • Receive a doctor's statement that you are healthy enough to provide care
  • Offer a safe and caring home environment
  • Maintain financial stability

As I was looking for Danielle & help myself, I was inspired by receptionist Shelia Arnold on 7th Ave. Catholic Charities today Mon 6/11/16 & her comments like if U R going to worry why pray & if U R going to pray why worry. I met Danielle (a Mngmnt person) in Walgreens Bethaney Hm Rd Sun 6/10/16 & it is amazing how the Lord Jesus & God our Heavenly Father put us all together at the right place & in the right time. We ALL NEED encouragement & SPIRITUAL connection. Guelda Gamble
