The Sanctuary Foster Care Services
The Sanctuary is a licensed child placement agency with the state of Texas. We exist to achieve permanent sanctuary and healing homes for children from hard places. We stop the cycle of multiple placements that so severely hurts the children in our care.
What makes us unique is that we are trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and offer Wraparound Services to our foster families. This includes 24/7 crisis intervention, counseling services for both the children and families in our agency, and respite and alternative care to assist the foster families.
We believe that with TBRI, we now have the tools to care for these children. They will need wraparound services for our foster families post-placement, including counseling that is TBRI intensive. The Sanctuary knows that every child – no matter the situation, can have the opportunity for healing and change.
Once a child enters into our care, we make a commitment to work with that child towards healing until they are either returned to their families of origin or are adopted.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

I have been aware of The Sanctuary since it's inception. What a wonderful difference the Agency makes with kids in foster care. As a previous foster parent, I can say that if the support that The Sanctuary offers families had been around when we were doing foster care, we might have been able to help more than the 27 kids that we had in our home. They have a true passion to help kids and families. I could not recommend them more highly than 5 stars only because 5 is the highest. They are working diligently to help and I support them.

The Sanctuary does wonderful work and truly cares about their families and their kids. Nothing could make a bigger difference to the future of our world than caring for these most vulnerable of children. I can't express enough how grateful I am for The Sanctuary Foster Care Services. They've been a lifeline for families I've referred to them who are dealing with Child Protective Services. Their dedication and support have been invaluable. Highly recommend!

The Sanctuary is an incredible service for these young people. Children need an opportunity to succeed, and in these situations, their life is over before it starts. The Sanctuary takes this kids and gives them an opportunity to restart their lives.
