Have Haven Child Placing Agency
Have Haven seeks to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing home for children in foster care. We recruit, select, train, and license foster parents who we believe can provide the necessary care for foster children.
Have Haven Inc., incorporated in 1999 as a non-profit 501 (3) © organization by a mother (Elizabeth Mesfin) and daughter (Rahel Selassie) team. Both came together and decided to apply their expertise in their respective fields and work with the population they set out to serve.
Elizabeth Mesfin continues to serve as the Executive Director overseeing the day-to-day operations of its programs: Adoption, Foster Care, and Residential Treatment.
Dr. Rahel Selassie had moved on to pursue a more passionate endeavor in the medical field. However, she remains active in advocating, consulting, and serving as the board secretary.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

I'm writing this review to share my story briefly and to warn you guys about this agency. In 2015 I connected with this agency which was a HUGE mistake on my part. Ms. Mesfin the first time I met you, you told me what a Christian lady you are and I believed you. When I decided to transfer to a faith based agency, you and I talked about it on the phone and you said that Have Haven was also a faith based. In addition, you did not express any concern or any wrong doing on my part. You agreed to my transfer, you sent back my transfer paperwork in a timely manner. A few days before my orientation with the new agency, you called them and Lied on me .On that same day I called your office multiple times attempting to discuss the issue at hand, It was clear you were avoiding me, you never answered my questions which only proved you lied. Ms. Mesfin you also sent a false document to CPS lying on me again. Ms.Mesfin it's very clear that you have no integrity, I left your agency in good term but you made phone calls and wrote false statement as an attempt to make me look bad, I'm just wondering what exactly did you gain from that? I never did anything to you.
Ms. Mesfin please provide document showing that I was "Non-Compliant" ...and if I'm lying, you are free to sue me.
