Our mission to provide housing, adaptive living skills, outpatient services, substance abuse services, supported employment services, and other necessary supports to youth and young adults whom otherwise would be homeless, incarcerated or institutionalized. We believe that when supported with the necessary services and supports, every individual has the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life.

Primary Care Solutions, Inc., is a private, for profit organization that provides structured programs that are clinically enhanced and relationship driven. Founded in March of 2000, PCS provides services for individuals with severe emotional, behavioral, and developmental disabilities. PCS believes in a unified, comprehensive approach that ensures a continuum of care and familiarity with goals and expectations as our consumers move towards healthy outcomes and reintegration into their home communities. By combining individualized treatment, therapy, and independent living skills, PCS fosters growth and independence for each unique individual we serve. We also offer parenting classes, an integral therapeutic intervention involving the parent with the goal of helping to improve their overall functioning in the home, school, work and community. Our priority is teaching people the skills they need to manage challenges so that they may thrive.

Requirements to become a foster parent

The state requires that foster parents get licensed through their local Department of Social Services or a licensed private agency. These sources will be your best form of support. Through them, you'll receive training and have a point of contact for emergencies.

If you ever have questions, reach out to your case manager. They're trained to assist foster families and the children in their care.

The Foster Family Alliance of North Carolina is a statewide association that recruits new parents, provides training, and offers support. You can find training and webinars online. You can also read parenting tips, find your region, and more.

The National Foster Parent Association is a non-profit that provides training and education. Caregivers can also find free online training through the NFPA.

The NC Division of Social Services (NC DSS) is the agency in charge of overseeing the state's child welfare system. NC Kids assists new foster parents with the early stages of the process. You can find children awaiting adoption and access foster care and adoption support services.

It also helps to form connections with other foster families, especially those with years of experience. You may have questions or need advice from them. It can make you feel like you have someone on your side through your journey.

Woman at the front desk needs to be fired. Rude, inconsiderate, and hung up on me when I called to reschedule an appointment.

The quality of service from the few phone interactions we had is highly disturbing. After researching options and finding this company for my father, I could not believe how rude and short the secretary was when I called them. My father had called earlier and when he told me how bad his experience with the secretary was, I wanted to make sure that he wasn't mistaken. He actually was generous. I would warn anyone to not waste their time calling this company. If the secretary is that unprofessional, I can only imgaine the level of service being provided for their paying clients.

Most distrubing, for a company that is providing mental health services, I feel so bad for other people who may be struggling and interact with Primary Care Solutions. Reaching out for help takes a lot of courage and receiving the type of service my father received is deserving of 0 stars but Google requires at least 1 star.
