Our domestic staff works with expectant parents who have decided to place their baby for adoption as well as those who are already parenting but have decided to put their child(ren) for adoption. They also work with the hopeful adoptive families to screen and prepare them. The ultimate goal of our Domestic Adoption Program is to connect birth families with adoptive families in North and South Carolina to find the right home for every child.

Our international staff works with our foreign counterparts in the Philippines and the Czech Republic to identify children internationally who need homes. They also work with hopeful adoptive families to get the appropriate paperwork and training completed. The ultimate goal of our International Adoption Program is to find loving, Christian homes for the many children in need of one from our partner countries.

Our foster-to-adopt program is run through Baptist Children’s Homes of NC. BCH has children’s homes all across North Carolina that care for children in the foster care system. Their foster-to-adopt program identifies children who are legally eligible to be adopted. The ultimate goal of the Foster-to-Adopt program is to place older children and sibling groups in the foster care system into forever homes.

Christian Adoption Services is a non-profit agency that connects vulnerable children with a Christian family.

Requirements to become a foster parent

The state requires that foster parents get licensed through their local Department of Social Services or a licensed private agency. These sources will be your best form of support. Through them, you'll receive training and have a point of contact for emergencies.

If you ever have questions, reach out to your case manager. They're trained to assist foster families and the children in their care.

The Foster Family Alliance of North Carolina is a statewide association that recruits new parents, provides training, and offers support. You can find training and webinars online. You can also read parenting tips, find your region, and more.

The National Foster Parent Association is a non-profit that provides training and education. Caregivers can also find free online training through the NFPA.

The NC Division of Social Services (NC DSS) is the agency in charge of overseeing the state's child welfare system. NC Kids assists new foster parents with the early stages of the process. You can find children awaiting adoption and access foster care and adoption support services.

It also helps to form connections with other foster families, especially those with years of experience. You may have questions or need advice from them. It can make you feel like you have someone on your side through your journey.

This agency is the best thing that has ever happened to our family, these workers work so hard, doesn’t matter the time of day, they are working to place you with the best match possible. We are adopting for the 3rd time through them, they make your journey seamless and stress free. I cannot express how much every single person we have met here has changed our life for the better, they put you first. We have built lifelong friendships with them all and our kids will always know who every single person who made it possible for us to adopt is.
Most importantly they take such amazing care of the birth mothers, they take them on a birth mother retreat every year and pamper them:) it doesn’t just stop at placement it’s life long here, that Is what makes CAS so special. While at the birth retreat the birth mothers get to meet others who have been in their shoes they form lifelong friendships and have the guidance of others. I could go on and on about this amazing agency. They will always and forever be our heros. We love CAS so much! There is no other agency that compares!

CAS is an agency that truly cares for all members of the adoption triad, from birth parents to adoptive parents to the child. We are so thankful to have worked alongside them with our adoptions, and are thankful for their dedication and service. Their staff is kind and compassionate and is a blessing to our family. We are thankful for this agency!

I was encouraged by Savanna’s post to share our experience.

We were also treated very poorly by this organization. We spent nearly two years with them just to be removed the day we got our home study (and on the cusp of becoming a waiting family). We tried to follow the advice of our caseworker just to be removed for following her advice that seemed to be out of step with top leadership (i.e., this indicates poor communication, dishonesty, and a very indirect approach to the whole process).

We were told to start our photos and prep our nursery. We had it all decorated and were a few weeks away from being a waiting family. So, when we were removed the tactics of the organization left us with nowhere to turn (and this decorated room to serve as a constant reminder).

Moreover, the “struggle session” we endured (which is a common tactic from some of the ideologies driving the organization), in order to force us to meet their expectations were not only unethical but unbiblical.

In addition, this agency is deeply entrenched in Woke ideology, following well-known DEI and CRT tactics. The in person trainings were filled with this false understanding (heretical) of society and human nature. The Bible and sound reason do not agree with their approach and required indoctrination classes. No person claiming to follow Christ should follow this false teaching (i.e., Race Marxism).

I would highly encourage you to look for another organization.

If you are not the "perfect" couple, look elsewhere. Such a shame that a "Christian" organization holds such judgment to those seeking adoption. In 2023 those who do not fit the mold are still being discriminated against. Worked with this organization for a year. Glad we finally saw the light through the lies and deception. They do not uphold the standards of the Biblical Jesus I know. The one who loves with no boundaries. I pray those reading this do their research and don't just take my word. And I pray all those desperately wanting children have their prayers answered.
