Bethany Christian Services
Being a foster parent is so much more than loving a child in your home. It’s also showing kindness to a family when they need it most.
It’s giving a child a safe place to land during a hard, scary time when they’re away from home. And it’s showing compassion to a parent who is likely overwhelmed, scared, and without a lot of support.
It’s helping a child stay connected to the only home they’ve ever known, in whatever way it’s safe to do so, and cheering on a family that’s living out a comeback story.
At Bethany, our heart beats for family. We want to see families strong, supported, and together. But we know there are times when families face challenges—and children need care.
That’s why we’re seeking foster parents who believe in families too.

Requirements to become a foster parent
New Hampshire foster parents are entitled to support payments. These help cover the costs of caring for a foster child. Let's take a look at some of the available benefits:
Support Payments
In New Hampshire, foster parents receive reimbursement for daily costs. This includes board, meals, clothing, and other everyday expenses. The pay rate varies depending on the foster child's age and needs, but base payments begin at $24.48/day, up to $29.49/day.
Children with special needs are also entitled to additional specialized funds, up to $36.86/day. You can learn more about expense payments for New Hampshire foster parents by clicking here.
Medical and Dental Coverage
Children in the New Hamshire foster system are covered for dental and medical care under the Medicare system.
However, it's up to the foster parents to book all necessary medical appointments and make sure the foster child attends them.
Training and Support Groups
Alongside mandatory foster parent training, there are additional courses available. This extra training helps foster parents excel and provide the best possible environment for the children in their care.
Foster parents are also invited to attend local support groups, where they can meet their peers and talk about all aspects of being a New Hampshire foster parent.

When you sit down with the staff at Bethany and they begin each meeting in prayer, it becomes instantly clear who is really in charge of the adoption process. The staff at Bethany truly opens their hearts to each adoptive family they work with and faithfully envelops both adoptive families and birth families in their protection, love and compassion as they work to place God's precious children in their forever families. Bethany changed our hearts and lives in ways we never thought possible. We are forever grateful.

Bethany Christian Services provided excellent support during our two adoptions. They completed our required home-study with a minimum of disruption to our family. The staff became trusted advisors to us before, during, and long after our little ones came home. Could not more highly recommend them.
