Adoption Resources Program
The primary purpose of Adoption Resources is to serve the best interests of children so each child is raised in a permanent and loving family.
At Adoption Resources we strive to provide services that protect the dignity of children, birth parents, and adoptive families. Our comprehensive services provide all those involved in adoption with support and counseling before, during, and after placement.
Adoption Resources, a private, nonprofit adoption placement program, has been working with children and families for more than 150 years. As a licensed agency, we offer services to adoptive families in Massachusetts. We also work throughout the country to assist birth parents who are considering making an adoption plan.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Your local DCF or foster agency offers various services for foster children and families. Parents have access to training and educational resources as well as support groups.
Foster children also have health insurance covered. The DCF provides foster families with a stipend to cover care needs like food and board. The state also offers a clothing allowance every three months that helps to reimburse parents.
A case worker visits resources families every other month or as needed, and children in foster care are also assigned a social worker. These resources are invaluable points of contact for foster parents.
Local support organizations provide further support, such as resources and helplines. Foster families in Massachusetts also form groups to assist one another, share stories, and give advice. It's an excellent opportunity to create new connections and learn more as a parent.

1 year ago Adoption Resources helped bring a baby girl to our family. I have only good things to say about them – so many positive things that words would fail to capture my sentiments completely. Their staff are experienced, imminently qualified, passionate about adoption, and thorough and attentive during all phases and facets of a logistically complex process. They regularly host seminars with guest speakers to provide information to prospective parents about various options and decisions that must be weighed, interpreting medical records, and understanding the experiences of birth mothers. They provide coaching on building a compelling prospective parent profile and even on newborn baby basics. This level of support extends beyond education to a more personal level, where we have found each and every staff member to be unfailingly compassionate, supportive, and patient, even during the most challenging of times. Post placement, they continue their engagement by hosting new parents groups – an opportunity to share experiences, challenges, and build a community of adoptive families. After working with many different agencies and firms of varying sizes and approaches, I can say that our experiences with Adoption Resources stands out above all in terms of their support throughout the entire process.

When we first started looking at adoption agencies we felt overwhelmed and didn’t know who to choose. Then we met with Betsy, the director of Adoption Resources, and we knew immediately this was the agency we wanted to work with. Betsy answered all our questions and put us at ease about the process. When we filled out our application we were introduced to our caseworker, Neile. Neile is amazing, she is so sweet and soft spoken she really made the whole process so much easier and less stressful. She guided us through the application process, helping us maneuver our way through all the federal and state forms. She set us up with the best social worker ever, Ava, who taught us so much about the adoption process and helped us really get our head around what it was like to be an adoptive parent. Neile also guided us through making our photo book to allow expectant mothers to get to know us. The agency offered several extremely helpful workshops including the medical risks in adoption and adopting out of state. When it came time for us to look at potential matches both Betsy and Neile were always available to answer questions or concerns. After we matched with an expectant mother, Neile set us up with a New Parents class so we would be prepared. At any time during the process if we felt unsure or nervous about something, Neile and Betsy were there for us. After our daughter was born Neile and Ava guided us through the post placement visits and the entire process went extremely smooth. Now that our adoption has been finalized, we still go back to Adoption Resources every month for their new parents group. The agency really is there to help you, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would highly recommend Adoption Resources to anyone looking to adopt.
