Bellewood & Brooklawn came together in 2012 with the merger of Bellewood Home for Children and Brooklawn Child & Family Services, two organizations that now have a more than 170 year history. In their beginnings, both grew from the desire of a committed few to nurture and provide for children who needed help most.

Through growth, change, and ultimately partnership, the organizations that now form Bellewood & Brooklawn continue to uphold that philosophy in all they do to provide greater care for vulnerable children and their families throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Our Vision - Healing the hearts and minds of vulnerable youth and their families.

Requirements to become a foster parent

You'll still have support and guidance when you receive a foster placement. Kentucky has continued training and can connect new foster parents with experienced families through the Foster Parent Mentor Program.

Having access to an experienced foster family is invaluable. You'll be able to connect with other adults who have advice and can provide coaching to make your parenting journey easier.

Your local child-placing agency is one of your best sources of information and foster parenting services.

Nonprofit child welfare organizations approved by the state recruit resource parents, provide resources, and offer training and general support. When you attend the informational orientation and parent training, you'll receive books and resources that tell you more about the many available foster parent support groups.

I was a former resident T this program 3 different times didn't help me at all the staff got away with whatever they wanted.Allowed children to be assaulted by staff and kiss alike. In my time there I hated it. Your punished for the reasons your placed in their to begin with.I wouldn't let any of my children within a five foot radius of either campus.

This place needs to be shut down. To treat children like that, that has already had a rough start in life is just insane, to choke a 7 year old IS UNACCEPTABLE 😡

Ja’Ceon Terry. A seven year old who was put in a choke hold here and suffocated to death. Seven Years Old. Despite numerous complaints of abuse and now the actual death of a child - this place is somehow still open. There needs to be justice and this company needs to own up to what it has allowed to happen.
