Founded in 1996 as a provider of in-home therapeutic foster care, Necco has grown into a multi-state child welfare organization offering a broad array of services. Each of these service lines employs the most innovative programs and treatment approaches designed to equip children with the tools they need to live fulfilling, purpose-driven lives.
Necco started as a foster care agency, and it’s where our roots grow deepest. Since 1996 we’ve been recruiting and training a network of foster parents who provide safe, stable and loving homes to children in need. We support our parents with on-going training, 24/7 on-call availability, financial reimbursement, counseling services and professional support staff. By becoming a foster parent you are positively impacting these children at an exceptionally fragile point in their lives, and you are creating a future filled with hope and promise. Requirements to become a foster parent
The DHS assists foster families with placement and ensures the child adjusts well to their new environment. Whether you have years of parenting experience or are relatively new to the idea, they have many support options for families. You can find plenty of information on the DHS/DFCS website or call them for more assistance.
Your local licensed child placement agency also places children in the foster system with carefully matched parents. Although foster care is temporary, it's crucial to find the right fit. That's why parents get a say in age range and gender.
There are also many state support groups for foster families that provide educational resources, services, and more. Connecting with these organizations and adding to your personal support network will be invaluable.
One of the best ways to become a better parent, whether you plan on fostering a child short-term or adopting, is to read as much as you can about Georgia's foster system. For instance, recently proposed bills would help to streamline parts of the state's foster care placement system.

I've always been drawn to kids. I have two myself one passed away at a young age and I have a daughter which is thirty three and I want to be able to help a child seeing I can't have a child at this late stage in life.

That was before they merged with Benchmark. No one answers calls or emails anymore

Our case worker has been gone from her job for over a month. Have we been contacted? Nope. Has anyone called us in 4 months since starting? Nope. Anytime you call they say they aren’t in office and can’t help. No one answers emails or calls. Absolutely freaking ridiculous.

at the end of the day i will never tell or refer anyone to necco . i went to all the classes to only to be let down with lies. my worker end up walking off her job ... then i was told to go to another foster care to only have the foster care place call me back that necco said bad things about you so we can not work with you at all .. im saying to my self what bad things they had to say ... one of my best friends was in the same class as me was looking like a deer in head lights when i gave him the news . the ladies at necco are very very and i say very messy in that office ... that is the reason why the workers that work there are walking off there jobs ... necco did not keep it real at all from what i can see ....now i have to do training all over again smh ... 1 year past to have nothing
