Requirements to become a foster parent

There are several support services available for foster parents in Minnesota. Let's take a look at what's available:

Support Payments

Minnesotan foster parents receive a monthly basic payment to help with the care costs of the foster child. Payments vary depending on the child's age and circumstances. They start at $650 per month.

In some circumstances, foster parents can also receive a difficulty of care supplemental monthly rate. These payments help support children with physical and mental difficulties and can be up to $1,500 per month.

Medical and Dental Coverage

In Minnesota, foster children receive Medicaid coverage for their medical and dental needs.

The foster parents are responsible for arranging the child's medical care and must attend all necessary appointments to maintain their health and well-being.

Training and Support Groups

There are plenty of support groups and resources available for foster parents in Minnesota. These services offer ongoing support and an opportunity to share experiences with other people in the same situation as you.

Additional training can also help you be the best caregiver possible for your foster kid.

Absolutely horrible place. They think they can verbally abuse the kids and that its okay because they do it to all of them. My brother called my crying begging me to come pick him up because of how they were screaming at him. Also they think they need to know things that are absolutely not their business. Dont send your kids here. They are constantly running out of food at the facility, and the van they drive has breaks that DONT WORK. Ken the owner touches the kids when they dont want to be touched, they get smacked, ken kicked out my brother and kept his phone so he had no way of contacting anyone. Ken is a horrible horrible person and should be locked up for a very long time. He also took money from my brother that the state gave him and kept it for himself. This facility is absolutely horrible. It needs to be shut down.

Interviewing for a job here is ridiculous. The lady came in all uppity with a coffee. Didn't offer anything but sat there smugly drinking hers. You can tell she's a novice at inter viewing as well. Definitely got the clique vibe. Hopefully their services are better than their interviewing etiquette.
